My last summer flowers are here... can't believe it's already almost September! It was just like yesterday when I did seed the flowers.
They managed well during our vacation and despite the heat, thanks to my watering system (I bought special perforated watering nozzles; filled 1½ l bottles with water, filled the nozzles with tissue paper to regulate the water flow and placed the bottles with the nozzles upside down in soil) and of course our fine house sitters Ruut and Mariia who checked them weekly while we were on the other side of the world.
Viimeiset kesäkukkani ovat tässä. En voi uskoa, että huomenna on jo syyskuu! Tuntuu kuin olisin eilen kylvänyt kukkien siemenet.
Kukat kestivät hyvin lomamme ajan kuumuudesta huolimattakin, kiitos kastelujärjestemäni (Prisman puutarhamyymälästä ostettuja 1½ l limsapulloon ruuvattavia pitkulaisia kartiomaisia korkkeja, joissa on pieniä reikiä; vettä pulloon, talouspaperia "korkin" sisään veden tihkumisen säätelyyn, pullo ylösalaisin ja multaan) ja tietenkin talonvahtiemme Ruutin ja Mariian viikottaisen hoivan.
