Avocado margaritas

Tipaton tammikuu on tilapäisillä alkoholista pidättäytyjillä ohi, joten helmikuun ensimmäisen viikonloppuun tarjoan cocktail-idean. Sopii vaikka texmex-herkkujen kanssa.

Avocadomargarita

2,5 dl  jäämurskaa

6 cl tequilaa

6 cl limettimehua

2 rkl Triple Seciä

1 pieni avokado – kuorittuna ja paloiteltuna

Laita jäät, tequila, limemehu, Triple Sec ja avokado tehosekoittimeen, ja sekoita tasaiseksi.



Hey, it's cocktail hour tonight! This Mexican inspired Margarita goes well with tacos, burritos etc.

I tasted avocado margarita in NYC's Oficina Latina and wanted to create my own version at home.

Avocado margarita

1 cup crushed ice

1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons tequila

1/4 cup lime juice

2 tablespoons triple sec

   1/2 avocado - peeled, pitted and diced

1/2 sprig fresh cilantro

coarse salt to taste

Place the ice, tequila, lime juice, triple sec, avocado, and cilantro into a blender, and blend until smooth.

The stylist's guide to NYC

Ostin viime vuonna Sibella Courtin etc...-kirjan luettuani hänestä australialaisesta lehdestä. Kirja on ollutkin varsin inspiroiva...

I bought Sibella Court's book etc... after reading about her and her home in an Australian magazine. etc... has been a very inspiring book...

... luettuani Sibellalta ilmestyneen myös New Yorkin ostosoppaan The stylist's guide to NYC, tilasin myös sen Amazonista. Olen tilaillut Amazonista paljon kirjoja, nyt tuli ensi kertaa ongelmia. Sain aivan väärän kirjan. Palautin sen ja sain lopulta kirjan hinnan + lähetyshinnan + palautuskulut takaisin, joten en menettänyt uskoani Amazoniin.

Ennen kuin tilasin kirjan uudestaa, sain päähäni tarkistaa löytyykö kirjastosta tätä kirjaa. Se löytyi kuin löytyikin, joten päätin tilata kirjan kirjastosta ostamisen sijaan, kun ei New Yorkin matkaa ole lähiaikoina tiedossa. (Kesämatka on jo varattu, mutta tällä kertaa lomailemme toisaalla).

...after I did read about her latest book The stylist's guide to NYC, I did order it form Amazon. I have ordered numerous books form Amazon before any problems, but this time I received a completely wrong book. After intensive correspondence, I did get back the price of book, delivery and return costs, so didn't loose my trust in Amazon.

Before reordreding I found the book in my local library, so I did loan it instead of buying as we haven't planed a NYC trip in te near future. (A summer trip is already booked, but we will head to another city/continent this time).

Kirja on kauniisti kuvitettu ja siinä on monia minulle ennestään tuntemattomia osoitteita, tosin paljn myös tuttujakin. Hieman poukkoileva kirja on ja osa paikoista esitellään kahteen kertaan. Viehättävä kirja kuitenkin, erilainen matkaopas.

Book is beautifully illustrated, there are many previosly unfamiliar addresses, although I have also visited in many places introduced in the book. Some places are introduced twice and sometime she seems to be jumping all over the city in one day, but all in all the book is pretty, a different kind of travel guide.
